About
Claude Bourquard was born in 1963 in Delémont. Self-taught, he was introduced to the ranges of the luthier during several stays in Dharamsala, India.
It was in 1997 that he opened his own workshop, in Saint-Brais, to develop all the finesse and subtleties of guitar making: a dream which, like a boomerang, tormented him and which, today, nourishes his passion intensely.
In his workshop, where he creates and manufactures Célestine guitars, where he restores instruments (from the violin to the double bass), everything exudes precision.
It is in a way the meticulousness of watchmaking applied to the search for musical purity and the delicate juxtaposition of the quintessence of the essences that make up certain ornaments. The atmosphere is not one of improvisation but of the cult of perfection.
