About
Born in 1977 in Porrentruy, he obtained his CFC as a manufacturer of industrial equipment in 1998, then turned to artistic ironwork and opened his workshop in 2003. In 2005, a distinction was awarded to him by Henri Viallon for his 2nd prize in the "Forged Creation" competition. In 2007, he was in charge of creating the structures for John Howe’s sculptures for "Saint-Ursanne la Fantastique".
At the heart of his workshop glows the flame of the forge, a luminous witness to ancestral know-how but also a warm companion of the master of the place. Marc Grélat shapes the material, assembles materials such as leather, wood, stone or even ivory, to create and restore ironwork and artistic cutlery objects or reconstruct historical objects, chandeliers and candlesticks.
