About
Michel Currat was born in Morges. After training as a draftsman, he spent several years traveling in Asia. Upon his return, an encounter with the painter Jean Monod gave him the opportunity to change direction. The interest in creative work and the opportunity to reconnect with wood came at just the right time.
Since 1984, Michel Currat has focused his research, then pioneering in the region, on conservation materials. In his studio, he has contributed to the respect and enhancement of works of art for several decades. His artisanal and bespoke work consists of finding the most suitable solution for each order by using the right materials. He defies the wear and tear of time in this small enclave where time seems to have stood still.
