About
Michel Currat was born in Morges. After his apprenticeship as a draftsman, he traveled for several years in Asia. On his return, a meeting with the painter Jean Monod gave him the opportunity to change direction. The interest of creative work and the possibility of reconnecting with wood come at the right time.
From 1984, Michel Currat focused his research, then a pioneer in the region, on conservation materials. In his studio, located in an alley in Nyon, he has contributed to the respect and enhancement of works of art for more than 32 years. His artisanal and tailor-made work consists in finding the most suitable solution for each order by using the appropriate materials. It defies the test of time in this small enclave where time seems to have stopped.
