Tania D'Ambrogio
Costume designer
Prilly

« The costume must help the actor to put himself in the skin of his character and can even become a game support. He must also be integrated into the artistic ensemble. »

About

Attracted by a manual trade, Tania D’Ambrogio trained in sewing and clothing techniques. After graduating, she began as a seamstress and dresser at the Opéra de Lausanne. Subsequently, she created costumes for theatre, dance and music performances. She also works for the cinema where she rubbed shoulders with big names like Jean-Luc Godard.

« After training in the textile industry, I wanted something more human, more creative: the costumes then appeared as obvious. »

Sewing machines, spools, patterns and meters of fabric: these are Tania D’Ambrogio’s tools for making her costumes. She particularly likes the concept of creation, teamwork and supporting the actors so that they are as comfortable as possible both in rehearsal and on stage. She works in particular for the Kléber-Méleau theater and other French-speaking scenes.
