Olivier de Mestral
Saddler
Nyon

« I have always loved leather because it is timeless, it evolves and transforms, unlike other consumer goods which lose their value. »

About

After working for 10 years in the banking sector, Olivier de Mestral left everything for leather, his lifelong passion. At first attracted by shoes, he became a saddler. Since 2009, he has been making bespoke pieces, unique or in limited series, for private or institutional clients. With his small team, he makes hunting objects, leather goods and luggage.

« Leather likes water but above all it likes to be treated well. On the one hand by brushing it with delicacy and on the other hand by nourishing it with a balm based on beeswax. »

In his workshop, Olivier de Mestral mainly manufactures equestrian parts: jumping and dressage saddles, bridles. After carefully choosing his leathers, which mainly come from England and France, he works them using only traditional techniques. Its know-how thus attracts customers from all over the world in search of top-of-the-range products.
