In her studio in Wynigen, Erika Fankhauser Schürch produces unique pieces that are characterized by reduction to the essentials, appear sculptural and still fulfill everyday functions. His goal is not to let the simplicity of his objects appear cold and sober, but warm, playful and poetic. The ceramist reinterpreted the traditional technique of intarsia by combining porcelain with clinker and thus leaving traces of movement on the surface of the objects with elaborate craftsmanship and creative confidence.

The lines create a pleasing game for the sense of touch and optical illusions for the eyes. As a result, the simple vessels seem to vibrate and radiate soothing power. You face the noisy, calm, composed, determined and constant world.
