Lynn Frydman Kuhn
Ceramist
La Rippe

« When I make ceramics, I allow myself to experiment with a number of unconventional tools and various practices to design my work. »

About

Lynn Frydman Kuhn was born in 1964 in Ohio, USA. She moved to Switzerland in 1985 and obtained diplomas in Applied Ceramic Arts and Ceramic Design at the CEPV in Vevey. She also holds a CERCCO diploma from HEAD-Genève.

The diversity of American and Swiss cultures, as well as his residences in Korea and China have strongly influenced his artistic expression.

« The creative process is just as important as the result. I want people to be surprised when they look at my works and realize that they are made of clay. »

Lynn Frydman Kuhn’s workshop is known for its "Spongeware" technique and its creations have been the subject of numerous international competitions and exhibitions.

The distinct smells of damp earth and dust emanating from her studio stimulate her creativity and push her to experiment with atypical and random combinations, until she obtains surprising results.
