Sébastien Godard and Camille Fumat are both passionate about wooden boats. After being trained by Jean-Philippe Mayerat, known as Mayu, they decided to take over their former master's shipyard in spring 2022. Keen to perpetuate their know-how, they train apprentices and encourage owners who wish to participate in the renovation of their boat.
At the Mestre shipyard, Sébastien Godard and Camille Fumat use planes, sanders, saws and other wood chisels to repair and maintain classic wooden sailboats and canoes. To do this, they prioritize respect for original technical processes, reversibility and local resources and adapt their practices to reduce their impact on the environment.
