Doris Grivel
Ceramist
Yverdon-les-Bains

« The dialogue between the creation of an object and its use directed my interest towards utility and everyday objects. »

About

Doris Grivel discovered the world of ceramics during a course and it was a revelation. After a CFC and a diploma at the School of Decorative Arts in Geneva obtained in 1977, she launched her workshop while continuing to share and transmit her passion for ceramics to her students, young people or adults, as well as participating in many many exhibitions.

« First of all, the wonder of the touch, the astonishment of the imprints of my fingers then the learning of the vocabulary and the grammar specific to the clay. »

With its 200 square meters, facing the Jura, Doris Grivel’s studio is a bright space where her creations, those of her students and the workspaces mingle. The clay is modeled, turned, shaped, decorated, enamelled to give life to everyday objects. The workshop is also an exhibition space.
