Manon Koopman
Tissand
Lausanne

« Weaving is a way of realizing my graphic vision by playing with colors, shapes and the rhythm of the patterns. »

About

Manon Koopman discovered her passion for weaving during a stay in Edinburgh. Back in Switzerland, she trained at the Filambule workshop-school in Lausanne. At the same time, she broadened her skills: sewing, vegetable dyeing, spinning. In 2021, she opened her workshop and, three years later, she co-founded Les Tisserandes , a workshop-boutique and a place for classes.

« My work is sometimes thoughtful, sometimes freer, but always graphic and colorful! »

For Manon Koopman, weaving combines her graphic heritage and textile art. On her Swedish loom, she creates scarves, decorative objects and accessories where vibrant colours intertwine. She attaches great importance to the sensory aspect of her work through the choice of soft and enveloping materials. She is co-president of the Romantiss' association.
