Christian Laufer
Skeleton craftsman
La Chaux-de-Fonds

« What I particularly like about the skeleton watch is that it creates a bridge between technique and aesthetics. »

About

Christian Laufer discovers the skeleton clocks by chance in a shop window during his training as a watchmaker. He crossed paths again with these pieces that fascinated him at Audemars-Piguet where he worked for two years before returning to La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1991. He then founded the Arrigoni-Laufer workshop with Maurice Arrigoni and specialized in manufacture of skeleton watches.

« Each piece must arouse fascination and flatter the eye of the expert. For this, every detail counts. »

In his workshop, which he shares with his fellow craftsmen, Christian Laufer creates watch decorations from A to Z. Whether it’s blocked polishing, traditional file chamfering or engraving, no technique can resist him. . He mainly works for major watch brands. The production of the most delicate pieces can take up to twelve weeks.
