Nicolas Regamey
Typographer and type founder
Lausanne

« Molten lead is raw creativity! »

About

Once his training as a multimedia operator and graphic designer was completed, Nicolas Regamey's passion for typography led him to learn the trades, notably with Jean-Renaud Dagon in Vevey. He also trained in lead typefaces with the latest experts in this very special field.

« Preserving the know-how of typography, while breathing new life into it, is a task that is close to my heart. »

Established for 20 years at the foot of Lausanne Cathedral, Nicolas Regamey's Workshop is a lively place where technique mixes with creation. Among the treasures of the workshop, you can find a hand press from 1824, a machine for making good old cardboard train tickets or a Monotype foundry-compositing machine. All these machines are in daily use. From business cards to books, the workshop offers an experience between artisanal tradition and contemporary passion.
