Martine Rochat
Archaeological Preparator-Restorer
Porrentruy

« My job allows me to rediscover a history that has been frozen in time, buried in the ground, only to be reborn under my fingers centuries later. »

About

Dreaming of restoring the brilliance of works worn by time, Martine Rochat trained in art restoration in Florence. Upon returning to Switzerland, she was hired by the Lausanne Archaeological Museum and then by the archaeology and paleontology section of the Canton of Jura to work on objects unearthed during the A16 road excavations. She is currently a preparator-restorer at the Jurassica laboratory.
