In August 2003, Thomas Zemp and his wife founded Amacher & Zemp GmbH and in 2004 they were the first woodturning workshop in Switzerland to receive the FSC certificate. In 2010, Zemp became president of the Association of Woodcarvers in Brienz. Today, Amacher & Zemp GmbH supplies, among other things, Trauffer wooden toys and the German mail order company Manufactum.

Thomas Zemp and his wife Ursula are the fifth generation to direct the shoot. Their products are made almost exclusively from Swiss wood. Some of them are now shipped all over the world. Thomas Zemp is constantly developing new products, from design to choosing the right type of wood, often in direct collaboration with customers.
