About
A graduate of the Vevey Vocational Training Center, Francine Vogt Maret perfected her know-how with master saddlers before opening her own saddlery in Martigny in 2011. Passionate about leather and its meticulous work, she perpetuates a rare profession in French-speaking Switzerland, combining tradition and innovation in creation, restoration and custom-made manufacturing.
Thanks to her versatility, she creates both equestrian items and industrial creations, using a variety of materials such as leather, hemp, linen and synthetic fabrics. Since 2015, she has been sharing her expertise as a lecturer for the training of apprentice leather and textile artisans, thus contributing to the preservation and transmission of this exceptional know-how.
Founded in 2011 in Martigny, Sellerie du Catogne perpetuates the art of leatherwork in a spirit of creation and artisanal restoration. At its head, Francine Vogt Maret, the only professional equestrian saddler in Valais, designs, repairs and restores unique pieces, combining tradition and know-how.
Every day, leather is cut, shaped, modeled, dyed and sewn by hand to give birth to custom, authentic and durable creations. But saddlery does not stop at equestrian equipment: Francine Maret also works with other materials such as linen, hemp, PVC tarpaulin or imitation leather, thus meeting the needs of a wide range of artisanal and industrial applications.
