Born in Bern, Vérène Hirt studied ceramics in the W. Aebi workshop in Hasle - Rüegsau and simultaneously at the School of Decorative Arts in Bern. She began as a ceramist at Margrit Linck in Zollikofen BE then in 1986 opened her workshop and store in Saillon.

Monika Gallegra was born in Zurich. She apprenticed in ceramics with Sandra Johnstoneen, in California. Back in Switzerland in 1980, she worked successively in Muttenz and Boubon, then cooperated with Martha and Walter Hofer in Montet-Cudrefin.

In 2015, Vérène Hirt and Monika Gallegra opened their joint studio.
