About
In her first life, Isabelle von Bredow de Pourtalès was a lawyer because her family encouraged university courses more than manual trades. But in her free time, she studies art and furniture renovation and the day she is offered a promotion, it’s the click. She resigned and took care of her four children for two years before converting to an upholsterer-decorator.
In her studio At the pelican upholsterer , Isabelle von Bredow de Pourtalès renovates old furniture. Using her hammers, her pliers and her sewing machine, she takes apart armchairs, sofas and seats of all kinds to restore them, strengthen them and give them new fabrics. She shares her workshop with saddler Olivier de Mestral.
