Château-d’Oex: The carvings of the Saugy family

Perpetuating a traditional art that gives pride of place to mountain pasture climbs, the artists Fränzi Saugy-Obrist, Anne-Marie Vallotton-Saugy and the twins, Jacqueline and Christiane Saugy were inspired by their illustrious ancestor, Louis Saugy.

Perpétuant un art traditionnel qui fait la part belle aux montées à I’alpage, les artists Franzi Saugy-Obrist, Anne-Marie Vallotton-Saugy et les jumelles, Jacqueline et Christiane Saugy se sont inspired de leur illustre ancêtre, Louis Saugy. On retrouve dans leurs decoupages cet amour immodéré de la nature et la nostalgie des temps révolus. Des demonstrations auront lieu all au long de I’exposition.

The artists Fränzi Saugy-Obrist, Anne-Marie Vallotton-Saugy and the twins, Jacqueline and Christiane Saugy have been inspired by their famous ancestor, Louis Saugy, maintaining a traditional art in which the alpine processions retain an important place. In her silhouettes we find this boundless love for nature and the nostalgia of times gone by. Cutting shows will take place for the entire duration of the exhibition.
