First prize for Métiers d’art & Design - Indosuez Award - Nicolas Berthoud, sailmaker at Arzier-Le Muids - Jacky Riesen, chandelier at Grand-Lancy; Claudio Colucci, designer in Grand-Saconnex

This prize rewards the collaboration between two craftsmen and a designer. The first prize is endowed with CHF 10,000 for the design of the object and CHF 10,000 for the creation of the object.

In the sea of possibilities, these three men were not destined to meet. Yet the winds of creation brought them together. Claudio Colucci is a designer, a high-flying creator who likes clean and dynamic lines, sensual forms full of mystery and sometimes humor. Nicolas Berthoud is a master sailmaker. Sails hold no secrets for him, who has taken part in several races around the world and whose sporting results speak for themselves. Jacky Riesen, meanwhile, is a chandelier. He masters lighting games and brings the brightest dreams to life. From the improbable meeting of their respective know-how was born a concept of original lamps in boat sail: by a skilful play of seams and folds, the canvas stands, alone, only supported by a magnet. The soft and warm light that emanates from it reproduces, at home, the atmosphere of a sunny day on Lake Geneva, when the breeze gently caresses the sail of the boat.
