Lausanne - When art and taxidermy meet

De Paille et d’Images, exhibition at the Lausanne zoology museum: Sabrina BIro, André Keizer, Michel Kraft, Pauline Miserez, Jeanne Wery

André Keiser, the taxidermist from the Museum of Zoology regularly welcomes artists to his studio at the Palais de Rumine. They are looking for ancient and mysterious know-how, the transmission of which seems to take place in a confidential manner and requires personal involvement. There is therefore no question of simply coming to steal images or dispossess the master of the place of his secrets without a dialogue being established. The taxidermist offers a trade. Surrounded by objects that interest artists, he receives them with the subtle intention of highlighting the permeability between their world and his. He shows his treasures, opens freezers and collections and makes his guests leave wondering how they will be able to sublimate their objects differently. This exhibition is the result of some of these meetings where the works of artists and the work of the taxidermist mix.
