Neuchâtel - To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Unesco listing of La Chaux-de-Fonds and Le Locle, as well as to promote the Neuchâtel heritage, the Council of State has decided to take its new official photo at the forgotten workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds

Neuchâtel Chancellery

This place is an excellent way to promote an unknown place and makes it possible to raise awareness among the population of Neuchâtel, and beyond our borders, of the many unrecognized beauties of the region (or at least too often forgotten).

From left to right: Séverine Despland, State Chancellor; Jean-Nathanaël Karakash, Head of the Department of Economy and Social Action (DEAS); Monika Maire-Hefti, Vice-President, Head of the Education and Family Department (DEF); Alain Ribaux, President, Head of the Department of Justice, Security and Culture (DJSC), Laurent Kurth, Head of the Department of Finance and Health (DFS) and Laurent Favre, Head of the Department of Territorial Development and environment (DDTE).

The Jacot workshop is located within the urban planning area listed as a World Heritage Site (UNESCO), on the ground floor of a building from the end of the 19th century. This recently rediscovered mechanical workshop presents a configuration close to its original state. All of the machines in the workshop are driven by a single motor via pulleys and transmission belts.
