Second prize for Métiers d’art & Patrimoine - Camille Vaschetto, art restorer in Lausanne

This prize rewards a craftswoman who excels in the conservation of movable and built heritage.

As skilful art surgeons, Camille Vaschetto and Sébastien Grau restore and preserve the balance of works worn down by the ages. Specialized in the restoration of paintings and murals as well as in the conservation of stone, they navigate between art and technique while respecting the history, materials and aesthetics of the works that pass through their expert hands. Evidenced by the restoration carried out by them of the Lausanne brasserie La Bavaria: the original colors, both of the front and of the interior paintings, have been stripped of their oxidized varnish and the wear has been touched up. They now enjoy a new youth and proudly expose themselves to the amazed eye of passers-by and customers for hundreds of years to come.
