The craftsman in residence - Laurence Kränzlin, jeweler in Lausanne (VD)

From Tuesday September 15 to Sunday September 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Arcades Métiers d’art Switzerland, Platform 10 in Lausanne

Laurence Kränzlin grew up in Vevey where she trained with the jeweler Charles Morgan. After her training, she went to live in Venezuela where she opened a workshop and a jewelry store made by herself. Back in Europe, she perfected her know-how in Barcelona before moving to Lausanne where she now shares a workshop with the jeweler-goldsmith Édouard Jud.

“Shaping the material, transforming it, welding it, filing it and seeing the piece of jewelery born little by little in my hands is something that fascinates me. »

From Tuesday September 15, 2020 to Sunday September 27, 2020, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Laurence Kränzlin invites you to discover the techniques used to make her jewelry, which differ according to the production of mass-produced pieces or unique pieces. She will also introduce you to the finishing work that allows you to modify the appearance of the materials, how to create a ring from metal wires and the art of crimping.
