As part of the European days of art crafts - GEMA - we wanted to dedicate the exhibition at the former slaughterhouse in Lugano to the theme of crafts related to music. The art craftsmen active in the field of music will be present and will have the pleasure of showing their mastery to guests and the public. By visiting us you will be able to meet them, see some of them at work while others will present their creations to you. Prestigious partners of the initiative and the artisans will give life to musical and demonstration moments. You will be able to discover the "behind the scenes" of a world, the musical one, very complex and creative, but also unknown to most. Particular attention will also be paid to the presentation of professions related to music and the inherent training possibilities.

The doors of the former slaughterhouse will open every day at 9.30§ and will close at 19.00.

Friday 5 April, 5.15/6.00 pm Official opening

Throughout the day, the former slaughterhouse will be attended by craftsmen who will demonstrate the production, maintenance and restoration of tools. During the three days there will be various presentations, moments of discussion and musical performances.

For the world of training and work presentation of:

• Lugano Net Work
• of the Cantonal Career Guidance Service
• of the Swiss Association of Musical Instrument Manufacturers
• of the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland

For moments of deepening and discussion:

• projection of the video "The three violins", debate and rehearsals in collaboration with the artisans, musicians and managers of the Paganini RSI program
• presentation of the Ticino Musicology Association: the history of Ticino librettos.

For musical moments:

• demonstrations of different tools
• short concerts of violin, harp, piano, alphorn...
