Erika Méan has been a felter and textile designer since 2012. Passionate about felted wool, plant printing on fabric and cyanotype, she creates accessories, paintings and decorative objects in wool and draws her inspiration from nature, folk tales or even mythology and legends. She participates in a large number of markets and exhibitions.
« Felting gives me creative freedom with its colors and irregular shapes whose fibers clump together in my hands creating unique pieces. »
In her Erka workshop, she creates unique pieces based on her inspirations or to order. She rubs the wool with soapy water to cause the fibers to stick together. Gradually, the fabric is created and gives birth to a natural and warm material that offers vast creative possibilities. Keen to pass on her know-how, she also gives classes.
