The ironworker-blacksmith shapes the iron hot by forging, that is to say beating the metal with a hammer on an anvil. He creates large works such as grilles, guardrails, stair railings... but also small decorative objects or furniture. The finished work can be polished, painted, patinated or left raw.
There is no specific training for the ironworker profession. However, a transfer of knowledge could be possible.
With initial training as a CFC metal constructor , it is possible to improve as an artistic ironworker. You will find all the information on orientation.ch .
