Vladimir Boson
Upholsterer
Lausanne

« Color is my credo. This probably comes to me from my father who taught fine arts and who was also a pop art artist. So I grew up in Technicolor. »

About

After finishing his training with Ackermann in Aigle, Vladimir Boson went to Belgium to improve his seat upholstery techniques. Back in Switzerland, he continued his career notably with Charles-Emile Moinat in Rolle and Moyard in Morges. In 2013, he founded his studio in collaboration with quilter Claire Lavigne.

« Each piece of furniture has its own story. Restoring it is a way to thwart frenetic consumption. Recycle rather than throw away. »

Their desire for independence pushes Vladimir Boson and Claire Lavigne to found their own workshop. Going against the tide of traditional upholsterers, they offer graphic, playful and colorful fabrics. Upholstering a 1950s armchair with pink flamingos and palm trees or installing Tyvek curtains, at home, all daring is allowed. They also collaborate with designers and artists.
