« The composition of my weaves is inspired by the rooms of a house. Their social, practical and formal properties are important sources of inspiration and memory. »

About

Of Swiss and Swedish origin, Estelle Bourdet grew up in the Vaudois Alps. Her Swedish great-grandmother, who specialized in the art of weaving, influenced her taste for textiles from her childhood. During her training, she explored textiles and became familiar with weaving, embroidery, screen printing and knitting. Today, she continues her practice as a freelance textile designer.

« My creations are designed with the aim of enhancing the habits taken within our domestic sphere. »

Estelle Bourdet revisits the artisanal manufacture of textiles woven on a traditional loom. To give substance to the patterns she processes digitally, she collects sheets, dyes them and cuts them out. She transforms these strips of fabric into rugs and draperies inspired by Swedish rugs. His pieces, all unique, are regularly exhibited in Switzerland and abroad.
