About
Born in 1981 in Orbe, Gabriel Martin, passionate about wood and music, cut his first icons at the age of 10. At the same time, he began to take guitar lessons. During his apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1993 to 1997, he became interested in lutherie and made his first guitar at the age of 16. This passion materialized in the Czech Republic where he graduated from the school of violin making in Schönbach.
In his workshop inaugurated in 2012, Gabriel Martin leaves nothing to chance: the choice of woods, their direction of cut, the thicknesses, the bracing, the collages, the shape of the handle and its heel, its projection, its reversal, its tuning fork, the laying of the soul, the bridge, etc. The smallest details take a capital interest in the craftsmanship.
