About
Jérôme Salgat has never felt in tune with our times. He has always preferred the wisdom of the elders and their know-how in harmony with the Earth. After working for nearly 10 years in a company, he set up his own business to make a living from his passion for wheelwrighting, a trade he initially learned from a retired cabinetmaker before perfecting his craft as an autodidact.
In his Dzin workshop in Mytchié, which he co-founded with boilermaker Remi Jacquemettaz, Jérôme Salgat creates a wide variety of pieces, ranging from horse-drawn vehicles to gardening and forestry tools, including grape harvest carts, Nordic baths, and any antique object that would no longer be made today. To do this, in addition to his expertise, he uses indestructible 19th-century machines.
