About
A blacksmith by training, Pierre-André Tschantz turned to bell making, his passion, in 1982 following a professional accident. He is now a world reference in this field thanks to his specialty: engraving and enamel painting of toupins. Its heritage pieces charm both cattle breeders and individuals in search of folklore.
Pierre-André Tschantz founded the Forge du Camp in 1982. To make his toupins, which he sells all over the world, he cuts and decorates sheets of steel before shaping them in moulds. He then shapes them with a hammer until he obtains the desired sound and welds them the old-fashioned way with solder to gun sockets. Since 2017, his son Anthony has taken over the family business.
