There is no actual registration. You can at any time announce yourself via the contact form on this site. The programming is ensured by a committee which proceeds by invitation.
You can sell the objects made during your residency. You will also be able to take orders during your residency to carry them out afterwards.
No rent, nor contribution to the costs, is asked of you for your residence. No remuneration is provided for in the context of your residency. Payment for raw materials used during demonstrations of the craft can be considered.
A residency runs in principle from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Other durations and times are flexible.
Your professional RC and the RC of Métiers d’art Suisse cover most cases. For objects whose value exceeds CHF 5,000, valuables insurance can be taken out by Métiers d’art Suisse.
Swiss Crafts can provide a list of accommodation available at various prices. In addition, we are looking for Friends of Crafts to voluntarily host craftsmen in residence, in Lausanne or around. Please let us know using the contact form.
No financial compensation is requested from the craftsman to exhibit his creations. The duration of exposure is generally three months. Métiers d’art Suisse ensures the proper presentation of the objects on display by accompanying them with descriptive labels. The exhibition is freely accessible with, if necessary, distancing on the ground, showcase-table, base, and display warning the public. During opening hours to the public, a person is present in the premises (Swiss Crafts staff and/or craftsman in residence).
