Grandson - Heritage Days - Built heritage crafts

Château de Grandson, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September 2020

The European Heritage Days (JEP) collaborate with the European Days of Crafts (JEMA) and offer meetings with building craftsmen at the Château de Grandson. Historic monuments would not exist without the professions that made it possible to create them and which, today, ensure their conservation and upkeep. In the contemporary collective imagination, craftsmanship is more readily associated with lace-making, instrument-making and illumination than with masonry, stone-cutting, carpentry or mural painting. Like the JEMAs, the JEPs are committed to promoting specific know-how in the conservation-restoration of built heritage.

Thus, in 2019, the Vaud Federation of Entrepreneurs, in collaboration with the Monuments and Sites Division, set up specific training aimed at all the professionals concerned. Come and discover an expert in plaster and old-fashioned masonry who will introduce you to the handling of the trowel and the composition of mortars, a stonemason who will give shape to a block of molasse before your eyes, a carpenter who will reveal to you the secrets of ancestral assemblies, a passionate about pigments who will reveal the mystery of paintings to you, a plasterer who will sketch out a rosette and a cabinetmaker who will show you how few tools are needed to make a window.

Reservation required for health reasons from August 17 to September 9 on www.jep-vd-reservation.ch

In the presence of experts and professionals in heritage trades: Roger Simond, masonry, Lachat & Fils, stone cutting, Fanny Vidale, carpentry, Claude Veuillet, carpentry-cabinet-making, Ludovic Dedominici, plastering and Jean-François Dedominici, painting- decoration
