Press release - Second winners of the Swiss Crafts Awards

The award ceremony will take place on Friday March 13, 2020, at 6 p.m., in the auditorium of the new cantonal museum of fine arts (MCBA) in Lausanne.

The winners of the second edition of the Swiss Crafts Awards will be rewarded in Lausanne. A jury of excellence, gathered around the project of the Swiss Association of Crafts, has chosen to honor eleven craftsmen and two designers working in our country.

The Swiss Association of Crafts expands its support for crafts by creating a new category of prizes aimed at rewarding a craftsman who excels in the conservation of movable and built heritage, the Métiers prize of art & heritage.

Fields: wood - stone - applied arts - watchmaking and jewelery - leather - paper - metal - earth - textiles - glass - instrumental craftsmanship - heritage conservation


Swiss master craftsman

This prize rewards an emeritus craftsman for all his work and his influence, in Switzerland and abroad. CHF 10,000

Crafts & Design, Indosuez Award

This prize rewards the collaboration between two craftsmen and a designer. CHF 10,000 for the design of the object and CHF 10,000 for the creation of the object. This reward is offered by our national partner CA Indosuez (Switzerland) SA.

First prize - Nicolas Berthoud, sailmaker at Arzier-Le Muids (VD), Jacky Riesen, chandelier at Grand-Lancy (GE), and Claudio Colucci, designer at Grand-Saconnex (GE)
Second prize - Vladimir Boson, upholsterer in Lausanne (VD) and Denis Savary, designer in Geneva (GE)


Craftsmanship & Heritage

These prizes recognize three craftswomen who excel in the conservation of movable and built heritage. The first prize is endowed with CHF 10,000.

First prize - Amalita Bruthus, art restorer in Porrentruy (JU)
Second prize - Camille Vaschetto, art restorer in Lausanne (VD)
Third prize - Emmanuelle Zem Rohner, decorative painter and heritage decorator in Geneva (GE)


Young craftsmen

Three prizes and one mention reward the talent and strong development potential of young craftspeople. The first prize is endowed with CHF 10,000.

First prize - Mathias Lecocq, wood turner and sculptor in Founex (VD)
Second prize - Estelle Bourdet, weaver in Gryon (VD)
Third prize - Simon Dubouloz, motorcycle saddler in Carouge (GE)
Mention of the jury - Théo Martin, art cabinetmaker in Payerne (VD)
