The artisan-e in residence, program of the month of August 2020

Arcades of crafts, Site Platform 10, Lausanne

From Tuesday August 4, 2020 to Sunday August 9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tessa Wymann, craft binder, and Michelle Roux from the dlignes workshop in Vevey (VD),

invite you to a laboratory dedicated to the glory of paper where collaboration is the key word. The duo will produce a book-object with the linocutist and resident at dlignes, Gaëlle Garrocq. Through this collaborative project around the crafts of the future, the thread of their reflections will unfold throughout the construction of a leporello (and perhaps after 6 days of printing and folding, will be- the longest in the world!).

Saturday, August 4, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Métiers d’art Suisse and the Office for Educational and Vocational Guidance of the Canton of Vaud have joined forces to inform you.

Every first Saturday of the month, documentary information specialists are on duty to inform you about professional orientations in the field of fine crafts. Whatever your background or your age, find the information you need on the vocational training courses that interest you.

From Tuesday August 11 to Sunday August 16, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Carolina Véliz, felt maker in Cargogue (GE),

will demonstrate different felt working techniques and the steps that lead to its creation. She will also make pieces in nuno felt, combining several types of raw materials: merino wool, alpaca, silk, cotton.

From Tuesday August 18, 2020 to Sunday August 23, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Alexandre Iffrich, jeweler in Etoy (VD),

will present all the steps (from wax to metal) necessary for the realization of the models for the creation of its jewels. He will also work on polishing the different metals and alloys used in jewelry. And will present to you a collection of semi-precious stones as well as its current and completed jewelry.

From Tuesday August 25, 2020 to Sunday August 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Yan von Kaenel, guillocheur in Cernier (NE),

introduce you to the delicacy of guilloche decorations. He will give demonstrations on an old machine and will also present a series of objects made (jewellery, knives, etc.) in collaboration with craftsmen from the Cernier region.
