The future will be dematerialized. But do we really want to reduce our fifth sense, that of touch, to the simple feeling of sliding a finger over the smooth surface of our smartphones?

Artificial intelligence, chatbots, 4G and 4K, pocket screen and flat screen, virtual images and other images. The future will be dematerialized and the whole world at your fingertips, they said. But do we really want to reduce our fifth sense, that of touch, to the simple feeling of sliding a finger over the smooth surface of our smartphones and tablets? Curiously, luxury brands are the ones that can lead the rebellion.

Today, and in order to attract new customers, mastering digital communications is the absolute quest for luxury brands. For many of them, projecting a contemporary image while preserving their tradition of know-how is a demanding challenge. In this “all-digital” luxury environment, it is interesting to highlight divergent approaches regarding our sense of touch.
