The artisan anglers highlight the edges of the timepieces and create a play of light reflections. Handmade, it exalts the authenticity of the art of watchmaking. This finish consists of removing the ridges between the surface and the sides and forming a chamfer (or bevel) which, in the end, will be polished. Beveling is a particularly meticulous finish which greatly contributes to the beauty of the movement.
Bevelling itself is a profession that requires lengthy training and the acquisition of extensive experience. The aim of the bevelling training is to transmit basic skills to people who will be employed in the bevelling workshops of different companies.
Hand beveling operator training is carried out in partnership with the Employers' Convention within the Neuchâtel Professional Integration Center (CNIP) in Neuchâtel. Duration 7 months. The training is validated by a certificate from the Swiss Watch Industry Employers' Convention as well as a diploma from the CNIP.
You will find all the information on the CNIP website.
The Employer's Convention participates in the professional development of employees of watchmaking and microtechnology companies by offering tailor-made courses with experienced trainers. You will find all the information on their website .
