About
Born in 1974, Blaise Martignier took an early interest in woodworking and completed an apprenticeship as a forester-lumberjack. After ten years spent in the forest, he trained in cabinetmaking and familiarized himself with wheelwrighting. He gradually acquires the knowledge and tools necessary for this practice as well as the mastery of wood, iron and fire. In 2012, he opened his wheelwrighting workshop.
Blaise Martignier took about ten years to set up his workshop between research, repair and transformation of the machines – the manufacture of which dates from 1860 to 1950 – which he found in former wheelwright workshops. Using saws, wood lathes, planers or staplers, he made and repaired wheels, stringers, drawbars and carriages.
