« Find the writing of the painter, his materials, his paw. Stay behind him. »

About

Laure Schaffert Perakis has always had a taste for painting. In 1997, after her artistic maturity, she left for France to obtain recognized training in the restoration of pictorial works. From 2002, she put her know-how into practice with the Jozef Trnka restoration workshop in Lausanne. She collaborates there, among other things, in the restoration of murals of historical monuments. During the same period, she also worked on the conservation-restoration of paintings and painted objects in her studio in Pampigny.

« Bringing light to an extinguished painting is a very rewarding job. »

In 2010, taking advantage of the accumulated experience, Laure Schaffert Perakis opened her new studio in Chexbres in a larger space, where she can improve her work tools, better receive her clients and continue to preserve the works of passing time. To conserve and restore a work while respecting it, you have to “step aside” in order to immerse yourself in the artist’s work. This implies an important work of observation and analysis from which stem the interventions to be carried out to save the support and find the colors, the brilliance and the depth of the original work.
