With a flick of her wrist, Anne Ponthenier makes a large canvas waltz across her work surface. Mission for the day: repair the canvases, covers and carpets of a boat. "The job of saddler is exciting in that it varies the pleasures," explains the entrepreneur, leather and textile craftswoman. Motorcycle or pedicure seats, boat or airplane cushions: each area has its own fabrics and specific stitches. “For boats, you have to make sure that the synthetic material is waterproof. For private jets, the quality of the leather must be impeccable in order to meet the customer's requirements. As for the leatherette motorcycle saddle, it must be well padded for a comfortable seat, ”adds the one who was once a theology student.
