They work with metals like steel, brass, copper, gold, silver, pewter, titanium, etc. They create and execute hollow or raised work, by hand using a chisel, by machine, chemically or by other processes.
* The heraldist engraver engraves weapons and coats of arms intaglio and upside down on a gold or silver support using punches and stamps that he often makes himself. A specialist in symbols linked to coats of arms, he accurately reproduces the details, ratified by a wax proof.
