Ceramist
The ceramist transforms soft, raw clay into a hard, unalterable object using materials such as terracotta, earthenware, stoneware or porcelain. Mastering the manufacturing stages, he prepares the clays and shapes them by modeling, turning or molding. He monitors the drying, carries out the firing and applies the decorations, from the patina to the enamels. Creating according to his inspiration or to order, he designs unique pieces or in small series: cups, plates, sculptures, ornamental mosaics, etc.
Become a ceramist
Training is acquired through apprenticeship in a company or full-time school with obtaining a CFC. Duration 4 years. Improvements are possible.
